Nordic Fire: An Original Acrylic Painting

$800.00

“There are three things that last: faith, hope and love (charity), and the greatest of these is love.” – I Corinthians 13:3. This is my original 24 inch x 36 inch acrylic painting of the Three Sisters mountains in Canmore, Alberta, Canada inspired by a photo that I took toward the end of winter. My daughter suggested the title, “Nordic Fire”, as Canmore is home to the Nordic Centre and the red stems in the foreground belong to the Red Osier Dogwood shrub which is sometimes referred to as, “Arctic Fire”. These mountain peaks were originally named the Three Nuns by Albert Rogers after a storm left a heavy veil of snow on the peaks. They were renamed in 1886 by George Dawson and are individually referred to now as Big Sister, Middle Sister and Little Sister (or Faith, Hope and Charity). Canmore is well known today for its mountain sports and vibrant arts and cultural scene. It is also situated close to Banff National Park and Kananaskis Country. A wonderful place to spend time outdoors. Note that shipping costs are extra.
